The school
is chose is called Aitzaz Hasan Shaheed High School (I wasn’t able to find
their website). It was originally called Government High School Ibrahim Zai,
but was renamed after an incident that occurred in 2014. I’ll tell more about
that in a second. Aitzaz Hasan Shaheed High School is a public high school
located in Hangu district, city of Charsadda, Pakistan. Both genders can go to
school there and it’s a public school.
The reason
behind renaming Government High School Ibrahim Zai, is a terrorist threat that
happened in 6th of January, 2014. A suicide bomber was on the school
premises, about to blow up the school. Before he could do it, 15-years-old hero
Aitzaz Hasan tackled him and saved the lives of 200 students. Aitzaz was
injured fatally and died a couple days later in the hospital. Not long after
that the government’s representatives announced that the school will be renamed
after Aitzaz. This story about sacrifice and heroism made me choose this high
school. I remember reading that story on a newspaper back in 2014, so I was
familiar with it already. (Word count 188)
