Blog post #10.

How digital I am?

Let me start off by saying, that I know I use a lot of electronics and gadgets. Like many others in my generation, I get most of my information off Internet, and spend a lot of time surfing it. I, unlike many of the older members of my social life (parents, teachers etc.) don't think it's a bad thing. An unbelievable amount of information is just seconds of researching away, or if I face a task like Henri's, I can always contact my friends via internet messaging sites and applications that use internet. When my friends are unable to help me, I'm always able to find a professional on the subject through internet, and contact them with e-mail for help. So with all this talk about globalization and it being bad, I think internet and moving on to a more digital time is a wonderful thing.
In conclusion, I myself am very "digital", and I think it's a good thing to be so.

Blog Post #6

Dear host family,

greetings from Finland! My name is Otso Elias Pulkkinen, but I prefer being called Elias. I'm going to stay at your house for a year while I'm an exchange student, and study at your beautiful country. I would like to thank you for letting me live at your home and experience your culture so closely.
Like I already told you, my name is Elias and here are some things about me and my family: In my family there are my mom Helena, dad Otto, big brother Mikael and I. The two of us have about three year age difference, he’s almost a 20-year-old and I’m not far from being 17 years myself. When we were little, Mikael was a hero in my eyes because, well he is my big brother after all. But now more about me and my life! I go to Helsingin luonnontiede lukio (Hellu), which roughly translates to Helsinki’s high school of natural sciences.

Blog #3

The school is chose is called Aitzaz Hasan Shaheed High School (I wasn’t able to find their website). It was originally called Government High School Ibrahim Zai, but was renamed after an incident that occurred in 2014. I’ll tell more about that in a second. Aitzaz Hasan Shaheed High School is a public high school located in Hangu district, city of Charsadda, Pakistan. Both genders can go to school there and it’s a public school.

The reason behind renaming Government High School Ibrahim Zai, is a terrorist threat that happened in 6th of January, 2014. A suicide bomber was on the school premises, about to blow up the school. Before he could do it, 15-years-old hero Aitzaz Hasan tackled him and saved the lives of 200 students. Aitzaz was injured fatally and died a couple days later in the hospital. Not long after that the government’s representatives announced that the school will be renamed after Aitzaz. This story about sacrifice and heroism made me choose this high school. I remember reading that story on a newspaper back in 2014, so I was familiar with it already. (Word count 188)

2a) & 2b)

2 a) In the test, I had to choose and press colored squares. First I chose the ones I like and then the ones I didn’t like. The test was actually very easy to do and complete. Mainly because I understood instantly what I was supposed to do. The result say that the three most dominant qualities in me are that I’m a decision-maker, innovative and imaginative, but I don’t trust the test results at all. I’d say that any personality test I can do online under 2 minutes, does not provide real information about me.
For me it’s hard to analyze myself and my personality, so I’m going to go with the test results and say that I’m a really creative person.

“Extraversion
You appear to be not particularly extraverted, nor particularly introverted. You appear to have a balance between your energy and activity levels, and in the amount of social interaction you have with others.
Agreeableness
You appear to hold a generally neutral view of humanity and others -- you appear to be somewhat compassionate and cooperative, but also at times suspicious about other people's motivations. While you see the value of getting along with others, you'll speak your mind when you feel like it. You probably hope that most people are honest, but are pragmatic enough to realize many are not.
Conscientiousness
You scored higher than many people on conscientiousness, suggesting you may sometimes value self-discipline (in others, if not always in yourself), trying to act dutifully when you can, and perhaps aiming for some kind of achievement in your life. You likely have a preference for planned rather than spontaneous activities and behavior. You are probably not usually thought of as being impulsive. You tend to avoid trouble and strive to achieve high levels of success through purposeful planning and persistence. You are also positively regarded by others as intelligent and reliable.
Emotional Stability
You appear to be neutral in the trait of emotional stability. You are likely emotionally stable in most of your day to day activities, but occasionaly have emotional reactions to stressful or difficult situations.
Openness to Experiences
You have scored quite high on your openness to experiences. This suggests a general appreciation for art, emotion, adventure, unusual ideas, imagination, curiosity, and variety of experience. The trait distinguishes imaginative people from down-to-earth, conventional people. People who are open to experience are intellectually curious, appreciative of art, and sensitive to beauty. They tend to be more creative and more aware of their feelings, and are more likely to hold unconventional beliefs.”

There were no similarities between these two tests, and the difference was that this test actually got information about me before telling me what I’m like. The results say that basically I’m just pretty normal and basic I guess. I have to say that I agree with that and in my opinion, this test was better than the first one. (Word count 60)

Seeing the world.

Hello. Welcome to my blog 8==D! My name is Elias Pulkkinen and I'm an exchange student from Finland. My plane just landed in Islamabad, Pakistan, and the weather is tremendous here.
I really can't say just one particular reason why I wanted to come to Pakistan and study here, but maybe the warm weather and kind people just seemed tempting. Everybody in here are actually quite friendly, despite the condition of their country. By that I mostly mean the poorness of many in here. Of course there are a couple of other problems as well, but I won't talk about that now. But all in all the culture in here is really nice and I really wanted to see it myself. I've always heard great things about this country, for example it has one of the biggest cities in the world, Karachi.

Bit about myself, I am Elias and I am a really good football player playing in one of the biggest clubs in Finland, IF Gnistan. I go to Helsingin Luonnontiede lukio in Käpylä. I live in Itä-Pakila with my family, witch consists of my mother and father, brother and I.
